My 4 yr old got this from his grandparents last week. It needs a little bit of oompf to fit the wheels together, but once they are on, he could do the rest himself. We have built the robot, which he loves talking to as if they were best friends. pros: easy to understand instructions, but does require a grownup helper the first few times. nice simple tools for putting the pieces together. Builds lots of different machines. bright colours, easy to tell the pieces apart. cons: the bolts have no washers, so it will unbolt almost instantly with any movement. great for dismantling, bad for playing with finished items. As an adult, I found it totally frustrating having to re-tighten everything constantly.
