This was a present for my one year old niece. i wanted her to have a puzzle which was a bit tricky to do, but achievable for someone her age. Also, i wanted the design to appeal to her, but not be too girly, not pink or princesses. She was instantly attracted to the puzzle as soon as we opened it for her. The pieces are just the right size for her hand and beautifully made. i have bought a lot of Melissa and Doug toys and they are always well made and really fun - my boy loves them.
